Role Description: Demonstrates advanced knowledge of and proficiency in the client's project management methodology and practices. Manages projects of average complexity and risk or to manage application module installations. Exhibits advanced skills in estimating and the use of project management productivity tools. Manages moderate level projects and to coach other team members. Manages staff of 4 to 8 team members. The responsibilities of a Project Manager II encompass identical responsibilities as a Project Manager I but, with a greater degree of complexity.
Responsibilities include:
  • Manage all operational and tactical aspects of assigned projects (may include installation of application modules) and ensure timely delivery of all project objectives.
  • Communicate relevant project plans and alternatives, including risk analyses and mitigation strategies, to project stakeholders.
  • Prepare written documentation in support of planned projects.
  • Develop and monitor project budgets and work plans.
  • Negotiate with vendors on relevant project matters.
  • Review and approve Project Status Reports.
  • Coach Project Coordinators and Analysts.
  • Understand and comply with all enterprise and IS departmental information security policies, procedures and standards.
  • Support the integration of information security in the development, design, and implementation of Hospital Technology Resources that process, transmit, or store client information.
  • Support all compliance activities related to state, federal regulatory requirements, healthcare accreditation standards, and all other applicable regulations that govern the use and disclosure of patient, financial, or other confidential information. 
Requirements
  • Prior experience in infrastructure and new building projects are preferred. 
  • Prior experience in other areas of IS are a plus but not required; (Help Desk, Network Engineering, Database, Service Administration, etc.) Ideal candidate will be comfortable managing several projects simultaneously. 
  • Project teams consist of mostly operational staff that are assigned to operational duties and/or other projects. 
  • PM should have experience in managing project teams where team members are dispersed over multiple offices/regions. 
  • Experience in and comfortable working independently with little oversight. 
  • Ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be well experienced in conducting project meetings, issuing status reports, and any other communications as required.
